Ockham's Razor play darkwave, synth-pop and ethereal music from Los Angeles, California. The band builds its sound from electronic production and live acoustic instruments at the same time, describing the result as a marriage between the hard-hitting sounds of the latest electronic technologies and the smooth and elegant tones of live acoustic instruments. The line-up is Patrick J. McMahon on lead vocals, Belinda Bach on guitars and vocals, Jonathan "Stickman" Bach on drums and backing vocals, Jeremy Wheeler on keyboards and pianos, and Sheldon "Lurch" Morley on guitar and bass, who also sings. Ockham's Razor are based in Los Angeles, California, in the United States, and the band's releases came out on Midnight Magic Records. The performances documented for 2003 took place around Los Angeles and Ontario, California, at The Garage, The Gig, S.W.R.E, Club Qtopia in Hollywood and Canter's Kibbutz Room. The debut album is called Ockham's Razor and its catalogue number is MMR200301. It was released by Midnight Magic Records in 2003. An autographed copy of the same album is catalogued as MMR200301-1.
Six songs are documented for the band: Time, Disturbed, Mad World, I've Been Losing You, Chasms and Far Away. The printed running order from the back of the sleeve is reproduced on the album playlist page. Two further archived recordings, Angel and Did Anyone, were recovered alongside them.
Everything is ordered directly from the band through the order page. The debut album is $10.00 with shipping included (MMR200301), an autographed copy is $15.00 (MMR200301-1), the limited edition mini-disc single Disturbed is $10.00 (MMR200302) and band photos signed by all four signing members are $8.00 (MMR200303). The Disturbed single is individually numbered and only 100 copies were made.
The t-shirt, catalogue number MMR200304, is a black shirt with the band logo printed on the front and the definition on the back. It is offered in sizes L, XL and XXL at $15.00 plus shipping and handling. No size chart is published on this site, so if you are unsure which size to choose, e-mail the band before ordering and they will advise.
